NatWest’s first regional business accelerator hub will be opened by chief executive Ross McEwan tomorrow, just days after the bank announced it would close at least 99 branches this year and weeks after it admitted misselling Enterprise Finance Guarantee business loans.
Cynics might argue that accelerator and incubator hubs – created by big businesses to provide space, targeted support and sometimes investment for small firms – are little more than public relations exercises for corporations.
